Loop Card Games was launched in September 2005 when I won a social entrepreneur’s award from UnLtd to create the ‘Light & Sound’ card game for Key Stage 3. Over 3,200 decks were distributed to schools in the UK in April 2006. Since this successful launch, a further 1,500 card games have been distributed. This campaign presented an opportunity to expand the enterprise and create more games.
The card games are ready made for lessons that complement the National Curriculum. Over 6,000 games have been used all over the UK.
Loop Cards Publishing Ltd has also won an Innovation Award for ‘Top Careers in Science’ from the London Development Agency in December 2006. A merit award has also been received on 16th November 2006 from the Enterprise Pavilion at the Arts Institution in Bournemouth for its promising business plan.
Striding Out has provided me coaching, training and inspirational events to kept me on track and motivated to finish by business plan to help me secure investment. Striding Out has given me access to a mentor, really useful experts, tools, supportive peers and contacts to boost my business. It is helping many businesses all over the UK - and it has definately helped mine.
